Rescue Day

crazy image2Rescue Day is held each year on the second Friday in August to help raise support for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter based in Lismore, NSW. Like in any of the emergencies attended by the Rescue Helicopter, time is of the essence in the lead up to our Rescue Day 24 hour donation challenge; Friday 12th August … the clock is ticking!

When we save a life we’re actually saving a whole family, as families are never the same after the loss of a loved one. Rescue Day is a celebration of the lives the Service has touched and a day when we seek the support of the community to help us be there for the next person in need.

Rescue Day volunteers will be out in force with their collection buckets and donation tables in shopping centres and CBDs – look for the smiling folk in their special red and yellow propeller hats. You’ll also be able to donate at any Westpac branch or Helicopter Op Shop as well as several of our leading local businesses who will be acting as collection points for donations across the region.

So take up the Rescue Day challenge and make the 24 hours of Friday 12 August really count.

There is no RESC_E without U and your family’s support.
